The Graduated Response document guides those that work with children and young people with special educational needs in Wolverhampton schools through how barriers to learning could be identified and the strategies that might support them in overcoming these barriers. This has recently been revised with V4P involvement in the meetings and were also consulted on the guidance once t was produced. The document aims to provide clear and consistent guidance about assessing, planning, carrying out and reviewing support and intervention at each threshold of need so that all children, young people and their families get the same needs led support regardless of the school they attend.

The guidance also aims to support settings in fulfilling their duties in accordance with the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice (2015) and The Children and Families Act (2014.)
