Annual Reviews of EHC plans are the mechanism through which children and young people's progress towards their outcomes and aspirations are tackled and monitored. It includes the sharing of information, advice, monitoring and progress information collated throughout the academic year and previous terms. Timely annual reviews are crucial so that key information on needs and outcomes are kept up to date to allow the educational setting to deliver high quality relevant special educational provision and to ensure effective teaching and learning leads to good progress. Equally, the review and monitoring of required health and social provision also contributes to the measures of good progress towards securing outcomes.
