Jayne
Hi, I'm Jayne and I am the Vice Chair of Voice 4 Parents.
-
I work full time at Wolverhampton City Council and have done for over 27 years in various roles.
-
Studying at Wolverhampton University Part time - course title is Send and Inclusion and Childhood Studies.
-
Full time Mom/Carer/ general dogsbody for 17 year old lad Dominic.
-
Dominic is diagnosed with Pathological Demand Avoidance, Asperger's, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, Hypermobility, Anxiety and Depression and ENT issues. Currently going through diagnosis for Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. Took us over 5 years to be seen by CAMHS and get an initial diagnosis of PDA and then ASD and since then the other diagnosis have trickled in. We are finding transition into Adulthood quite a difficult path.
-
Dominic is educated out of borough at a Mainstream Special School in Kidderminster and has an EHCP. He has to travel every day to his school but this is the only provision we could find to meet his needs. This takes a toll on him socially and emotionally and has taken a long time for him to settle and be open to education… but that flappy smile makes it all worthwhile.. He has just secured a place at Rodbaston, to study Animal Care starting in September 2023.
